All events are not the same, requiring different needs. My rates are below the national average, and I do offer some free services and discounts as well. Please fill out the “Contact” page on my website to receive a quote for your special event. If you decide to hire my services, a nominal $150.00 deposit and signed contract is required to hold your date.
I have been one of a few Southwest Michigan DJs that has been fortunate to have a solid schedule over the past few decades. I achieved this with total dedication to my clients, as well as through the referrals they provide. This also includes referrals from numerous local wedding venues.
Absolutely! This is your special day and I welcome your input. Any music that is not in my vast collection I will purchase at no extra charge to you.
I will be professional throughout your event, with occasional humor when appropriate. You can be assured that I am not a radio “shock-jock”, “game show host", or one who will drink on the job. I do not have a "tip jar" nor do I accept any tips from your guests. It is my responsibility to protect my clients and their guests from any awkward moments and keep the integrity of their special event intact.
Yes, but many DJs are not insured. The only motive of not having insurance for a viable business is to save a few hundred dollars a year. Some venues do require insurance certification from wedding vendors. Copies of my policy are always available upon request.
I arrive approximately 2 hours prior to the ceremony/reception start time. This way guests are not burdened with moving of equipment, and sound checks. Everything will be in place and working properly prior to your event. I believe that to bring in equipment and set up during your guests' arrival time creates an unprofessional atmosphere.
Yes. I use high quality purchased (legal) digital music files with professional DJ software. Depending on the venue/event, I incorporate the following name-brand sound equipment..… JBL, Audio Technica, Line 6, Shure, etc. To protect your event, I do have a backup sound system always on site. If you are considering any DJ, having a quality backup system on site is a very important question to ask! One bad component, cord, etc and your entire event could be in jeopardy. I offer you this insurance and peace of mind, though many do not.
Yes. Licensed music means that a DJ purchased the material played. I have spent many years purchasing such music. Music that is downloaded illegally to build a “library count” (sometimes used as a selling tool overshadowing the lack of experience) may put your event in jeopardy. Many illegal downloads have very poor sound quality and may be imbedded with material that may cause some surprising moments at your event. "Streaming " music may also have inherent risks which I avoid by purchasing all music.

Probably the most important question listed here....YES!!! Southwest Michigan is an extremely popular Midwest destination wedding location. Although there are numerous great disc jockeys in this area, some have recruited "no experience necessary" help to cover their overflow of bookings. Please always ask who will be your DJ and have this put into the contract! I do occasionally field frantic calls from couples whose DJ has backed out. I sincerely try my best to find them a reputable DJ, as I am generally booked, however, most of the time my trusted colleagues are booked as well. I personally would rather book fewer weddings and do them well than to take risks on anyone's special day.
